Carnivore BLAT

It's not that we want to muscle-in on the much-loved BLAT but we think it could be tweaked. The addition of 2 beef patties and an egg take it to a new level :)

Ingredients: Serves 1

  • 250g beef mince
  • 2 tsp psyllium husk
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder (optional)
  • 2 tsp freeze-dried liver powder
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or tallow
  • 2 rashes of bacon
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tomato
  • ½ an avocado

Method:

  1. In a bowl mix beef, psyllium husk, sea salt and smoked paprika, combine together with your hands. Add in onion powder (if using) and liver powder, mixing well again.
  2. Half the mixture and roll into balls, then flatten into round patties.
  3. Heat coconut oil or tallow in a pan on a medium - high heat, add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes on the other side.
  4. Cook the bacon in the same pan, for 4-5 minutes or until cooked. Put the patties and bacon on a separate plate.
  5. In the same pan, crack the egg, cooking on one side and flipping it after a minute or two.
  6. Slice the tomato and avocado.
  7. Put some baking paper on a plate and put one of the patties down, stack with bacon, egg, tomato and avocado, then close it with the other pattie. Wrap it with baking paper and enjoy!
