Energy Boosting Cacao Pancakes

Cacao Pancakes Healthy

A Simple Recipe the Whole Family Will Love

The energy-supporting hero in this recipe is Primal Energy - 100% powdered beef liver that blends seamlessly into these pancakes.

It’s a rich whole-food source of bioavailable iron, B-vitamins (such as B12 and folate) and fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K) - key nutrients that fuel mitochondrial energy production, oxygen transport, and nervous system function. As a naturally occurring, nutrient-dense organ food, it’s easily absorbed and utilised by the body, making it a simple yet effective way to replenish and nourish the body (and even better when it's in pancake form right?!)

Makes 8 pancakes | Refined sugar-free | Gluten + Dairy-free option

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana (the riper, the sweeter!)
  • 2 organic eggs
  • 1 + 1/4 cup rolled oats (or quinoa flakes for a gluten-free option)
  • 1 + 1/4 tsp Primal Energy Beef Liver powder
  • 3 heaped tsp organic unrefined cacao powder (or use carob powder for little ones if cacao is too stimulating!)
  • 1 serve of collagen powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup of milk of choice
  • Ghee or unsalted butter to cook the pancakes

Method:

  1. To a blender or food-processor, add the oats, banana, eggs, Primal Energy powder, cacao or carob powder, collagen (if using), milk of choice, baking powder, salt and vanilla essence. Blend until smooth and set aside to rest for 2 minutes (this will thicken the batter up slightly, leading to fluffier pancakes!)
  2. Over low-medium heat, heat a pan and use your ghee or butter to coat. Using a 1/4 cup of batter per pancake, cook for approximately 2 minutes on each side or until golden/ darker in colour. Repeat this process for all the batter.
  3. Once cooked, plate the pancakes and top with your favourite fruit, yoghurt and maple syrup if desired. Dig in and enjoy!
