Co-founder, Matt, has taken the classic burger and flipped it on its head. Keeping all the indulgent flavour a burger should have but the whole food twist: a bun made entirely of whole food protein.

Makes 1 burger
Ingredients
Bun (choose one option or mix half/half):
- Option 1: 150g tuna (canned), 2 eggs, 1 tsp baking powder, pinch of salt
- Option 2: 80g chicken thigh (cooked), 2 eggs, 1 tsp baking powder, pinch of salt
Filling:
- 100g steak (your preferred cut)
- ½ avocado, sliced
- 2 slices bacon, cooked crispy
- 3 slices fresh tomato
- Homemade burger sauce
Method
Step 1: Make the bun
- Preheat oven to 160 degrees celcius.
- Combine your chosen bun ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth.
- Pour into a small cake tin.
- Cook in the oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven and tin and allow to cool for 10 minutes
Step 2: Cook the filling
- Season the steak with salt and pepper. Cook as preferred.
- Cook bacon until crispy.
- Slice avocado and tomato.
Step 3: Assemble the burger
- Cut the burger bun in half
- Layer steak, bacon, avocado, tomato and sauce as desired.
